Last night was good – we started out in the Hogshead in town, but it was shoulder-to-shoulder in there, so most of us migrated to the Hogshead on Bev Road, then up to… er… the Arena bar place a bit up the road since they were open til midnight. Aaaaand then it was onwards back down Bev Road to the Welly. Not my kind of music, so I didn’t dance, but it was most excellent to catch up with everyone, including some of the guys from upstairs who I hadn’t seen in the office yet. :-) Took me a while to wake up this morning…. actually, I don’t think I really woke up until this afternoon, though I was physically up and about. Heheh!

My hair is red again now. I dyed it yesterday, and I think I’ve found the colour I’ll be sticking with for a while at least. It’s a lovely deep ‘ruby red’ – kind of red wine colour, really. I’ve tried a few similar shades, but this result is what I was aiming for, I think. Hoorah!

I was having some probs

I was having some probs with my archives, but things seem to be OK again now. Looks like they’re all there, anyway. Hoorah! I’d planned on doing some gardening and things around the house today, but so far I’ve just faffed about online. Well, never mind. I’ve got the rest of the weekend still to go. Off out tonight, which should be fun! I’m looking forward to it. :-) I think I’ll watch the new Angel episode in a bit, and maybe read a book. Zen and the Art of Vegging About the House. Or something. *g*

And just to bore anyone still reading this to absolute and final death…….
This week’s Friday Five:
1. How many houses/apartments have you lived in throughout your life?
Seven altogether, six of those in the last eight years:- Mum and Dad’s house for almost 20 years; Halls at uni for one year; First student house in Wincheap, Canturbury for one year; Second student house on Sturry Road, Canturbury for one year; Flat in Hither Green, SE London, shared with Clara, then a couple of temp flatmates (one of whom turned out to be a sex offender (!!!!)), then Anil, for 2½ years; House in Beverley living with Barry for 1 year; Current ickle house in Hull for just me and the moggy for 1 year 4 months so far.

2. Which was your favorite and why?
This one, because it’s mine all mine… and it’s cosy and in a convenient place. I really love having it all to myself, though.

3. Do you find moving house more exciting or stressful? Why?
Overall, more exciting, I think, because of the moving on to a brand new thing, and the potential included in that. But the whole packing thing is horribly stressful, and of course the last move was very much so because it also incorporated the break up of my relationship with B and all that stuff, which was pretty yucky.

4. What’s more important, location or price?
So far, it’s pretty much been price, although location has played a pretty big part since I don’t have a car… that makes it pretty essential that I live somewhere within easy reach of decent public transport and shops. Hopefully, though, I’ll get to a point where price doesn’t have to govern my choices so strictly. :-)

5. What features does your dream house have (pool, spa bath, big yard, etc.)?
Oooo….. let’s see. Starting outside, a reasonable sized garden, but not something too huge unless I’m in a position to employ a gardener! *g* Good sized rooms, especially a nice big kitchen, spare rooms for friends to come and visit. A library and a music room, at least, and possibly a fabby high tech computer room. Ooo, and a home cinema!! That’s be excellent :-)

Ahahaha!. That is just febulous.

Ahahaha!. That is just febulous. Oh yes it is. I have a question – the advert for the Wales/England 6 Nations game with the masiiiiiive hiiids… is that supposed to be Mick Jagger? Cos it doesn’t half look like it. And if so – why? What does he have to do with rugby? Huh? Moggy … Continue reading “Ahahaha!. That is just febulous.”

Moggy news: I did indeed take him to the vets, and the nice vet man checked him out and suggested raising his medication a bit. Which I’ve done, and today we went back for a check up. He hasn’t had any more fits, so he’s staying on that dose now. I just hope he doesn’t get used to that too soon, cos I don’t want to have to keep increasing it. :-/ That couldn’t do him any good in the long run.

Stones give free concert — no one killed. Well, good. That’s nice! *g* My take on the whole Michael Jackson thing is…. well, I feel sorry for him, I spose. My take on the whole Michael Jackson thing is…. well, I feel sorry for him, I spose. I think he’s very, um, different from your normal human being, probably because of his bizarre upbringing and life in general. I don’t actually think there’s any purposeful harm in him whatsoever. He’s a disturbingly strange person. But not a bad one. I don’t think he could have turned out much different, in the circumstances. Poor bloke.

Check out EricWight.com if you want to see some of the concept artwork and character designs for the Buffy Animated Series. I’m not sure if the cartoon is actually going ahead or not at the mo, but it’s interesting to have a peek at these. Especially since it’s set in the Season 1 time period… only with Dawn being present.

I’m a bit worried about my moggy – he had a fit yesterday midday-ish, and then another one at 5am. He’s all discombobulated and random today, poor little thing. I think I’ll give the vet a ring. Better go do that.

Belated Happy New Year! So… some news. My host for this domain/site, and several of my others, isn’t going to be renewing his contract. Which means I need to find a new web home. Belated Happy New Year!

So… some news. My host for this domain/site, and several of my others, isn’t going to be renewing his contract. Which means I need to find a new web home. Now, I can’t pay for proper domain hosting (for one domain, let alone six!) right now, so I’m going to be having the sites on other servers, with the domains redirecting to point to them. I don’t know yet what the redirection will run to (will it just do the domain itself, or any directories off that domain as well), so I’ve pretty much decided to incorporate this blog into the main enchilada sunrise site, and have it at blogalogalog.html. That’ll probably happen over the next week or so.

So in a way, this’ll mean one less site to worry about. And I’ll be closing some of my others, too, I think. The UKBAWC is already gone. I’m still thinking about what else to drop. I really do need to, cos I can’t cope with all the ones I have at the mo. I’ll probably combine everything into one site, eventually. Much less work!

Christmas is coming… the cat

Christmas is coming… the cat is getting fat. Actually, the cat is at the cattery (which I feel horribly guilty about), and tomorrow I’m going down to Hastings to spend Christmas and New Year with the family. Which, since my boiler is broken and can’t be fixed until after Christmas, is rather handy! I had … Continue reading “Christmas is coming… the cat”

Actually, the cat is at the cattery (which I feel horribly guilty about), and tomorrow I’m going down to Hastings to spend Christmas and New Year with the family. Which, since my boiler is broken and can’t be fixed until after Christmas, is rather handy!

I had been thinking about changing the design of this, but Char came to visit and took me to see The Two Towers…. and I’m definitely keeping the hobbit boys for a bit longer now *g*. Mmmmm.

I’m going to get myself to bed now, as I have an early start tomorrow. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all :-)

Freaky.nu and all subsites are

Freaky.nu and all subsites are currently down. Many apologies about this – as you may or may not know, I’ve been ill, and as a kind of side-effect of that, the last quarter’s hosting cheque didn’t get posted. One is now on it’s way, so the domain will hopefully be back by this weekend. If … Continue reading “Freaky.nu and all subsites are”

Another little break I don’t

Another little break I don’t know where this year has gone to, I really don’t. I’ve had a lot of things to deal with, I spose. Well, not a lot, but enough. But I’ve been out of it for a fair chunk of the year, so I guess time has just… passed. It has a … Continue reading “Another little break I don’t”

Another little break
I don’t know where this year has gone to, I really don’t. I’ve had a lot of things to deal with, I spose. Well, not a lot, but enough. But I’ve been out of it for a fair chunk of the year, so I guess time has just… passed. It has a tendency to do that. Heh.

So, anyway, I’ve decided to take another break from blogging for a while. Not sure how long for, exactly, but I thought I’d just mention it here in case anyone wonders why I’ve gone quiet again.

I might give some of my other sites the odd prod still, if I can get my brain to stay in gear long enough to do something constructive. Pah, stupid brain. Work properly, damnit……

TTFN :-)

It sounds like we’re being

It sounds like we’re being flippin’ bombed. People are going mad on the firework displays, it seems. Even though they’ve been letting them off non-stop for the last couple of weeks. Tonight’s session started at about 5pm, and various ones around town have been chipping in, I think, til it got to this level. And typically, though I’m getting tons of noise, I can’t see a thing. Bah! *g*

Plus, the cat doesn’t quite get why I won’t let him out. Daft animal has noooo fear of firework noises. Yet runs a mile at the slightest rustle of a plastic bag. Doi.

My bruvver brought my birthday

My bruvver brought my birthday present from him and the folks: flatscreen 17″ monitor, when we drove back up from down south, to replace the flickery knackered 15″ I had. We’ve hooked it up. It’s looooooooovely. Wheee! :-D And now to down tonight’s experimental insomnia-beater: warm milk. Mmm :-)

Hmmmm. So, I’m still rather

Hmmmm. So, I’m still rather unhealthy, but gradually getting better. I’ve got laryngitis (ugh. again), and the antibiotics have worked to some extent…. guess I’ll just have to go back to the doctors if it doesn’t completely clear up. Xandermog appreciates me being home, at any rate. Although he’s maybe been a bit fed up with me being in bed at odd times when he thinks I should be following him around opening doors for him and all that. Heheh.

Ooo, I know, since I’m here, I’ll do This or That Tuesday
1. Apples or pears?
Apples. I like pears too, but they’re a bit grainy in texture. Apples are much nicer.
2. Oranges or grapefruit?
Oranges, though again I quite like grapefruit too.
3. Broccoli or cauliflower?
Oooo, both. Mmmmmmm.
4. Green beans or lima beans?
Green beans. I’m not sure I’ve even ever had lima beans. Do we have them over here? Maybe they have a different name. Dunno.
5. Winter or summer squash?
Another thing I don’t think we really get over here. Didn’t even know there was more than one kind until now.
6. Blueberries or strawberries?
Strawberries. Yum. Again, don’t get blueberries so much, but even so, I think strawberries would win.
7. Tomatoes or potatoes?
Potatoes, definitely. Love them, don’t like tomatoes at all.
8. Peaches or plums?
Tough one….. I think peaches, just about.
9. Peas or carrots?
Again, I love both. But peas have the edge. Yummm.
10. Asparagus or corn?
Corn, especially on the cob. Scrummy.

Happy Birthday to me. :-)

Happy Birthday to me. :-) But I’m still under the weather, which is annoying, to say the least. Off to the doctors again tomorrow. I’m still on a break from this, pretty much. But hopefully not for much longer. :-)
