And yeah, I could, except he’s not gone to Heathrow this time, he’s gone to Manchester. D’oh!!! So no concert for me. Waaah! What a waste of a bloody tenner. Eternal…. Literally is all shiny and new. I’m moving right away from black backgrounds now. Well, not totally, but for most things.

I put my other ‘official’ pics from the weekend up at Con Woman, too. Haven’t got my own pics developed yet, and I don’t know how well they’ll come out. Well, I’ll just have to wait and see.

I think I’m off to London tomorrow. I hope I am. But I need a lift – can’t afford another train fare. We got tickets for the Four Star Mary tomorrow night, and James Marsters is supposed to be appearing with them at some point. So it’s down a day early, and crashing on Luna and Noxy’s hotel room floor for the night. Though since I don’t know yet if I ever got a room sorted out for Nocturnal, it could be that I’ll be doing that all weekend. Which would save me a nice chunk of money.

Right then, gotta pack. Meep.

Haven’t finished EL yet, but I’m making progress. Which is good. May well get it all done and uploaded when I get home from work tonight. Here’s hoping.

Looks like I might end up with a project which is bigger than I originally expected. See, Barry wants to do a website for the character of Nina, played by Rachel Grant, who is the Sci Fright presenter on the Sci-fi channel. Not wanting to tread on anyone’s toes, he’s been trying to get in touch with various people, including the actress herself – who has been very helpful and friendly. Then yesterday, he got an email from the Sci-fi channel, who think it’s a good idea and want to talk to him further about it! Which is extremely cool, but causes me to feel slightly panicked – I’m the one who’ll be doing the design (from his basic plan), coding, graphics, etc since B hasn’t even attempted a website before. I need to get him to learn html so he can at least do the content and then update without me having to code it all up after he’s written it. Meep!

ARSE!

Umm. Calm now. Found out last night that the James Marsters events in Wolverhampton and Glasgow, that I’m going to this coming weekend, are going to be, well, James Marsters-less. A TV show he’s filming changed it’s schedule, and now he can’t make it. It’s good that he’s working, but it’s a total bummer that he’ll be missing these extra appearances. I’m disappointed, and I’ll be seeing him at Nocturnal the week after (which so far, he’s still going to). Just think of all the people who’re going to this because they missed out on N3K tickets, but really wanted to see him. :-( He’s going to do mini-events another time, so hopefully a lot of people will get to go to those. It’s well cool of him to make the effort to do that, I think.

I know, I’m silly to be all disappointed…. but I wouldn’t actually be going to this event if it hadn’t been a James Marsters one. Part of me is bewailing the money. But I’m still glad I’m going (cos they aren’t cancelled!) because Amber Benson, Robin Atkin Downes, and now J August Richards (Gunn from Angel) are still going to be there. So it’ll still be a great weekend. Just not quite the one I’d intended….. *g*

I feel really short today. It’s because I’m wearing my DMs, instead of the boots I normally wear (4 inch soles / 6 inch heels). It feels very odd. I’m wearing the DMs cos I had a refresher driving lesson today in preparation for driving around the country this coming weekend. Went on the motorway – great fun! And the instructor reckoned I’m just fine even though I haven’t driven for a year or two, which is good. 1000-mile-weekend-trek, here I come!

Ummm. The Buffy and Angel season finales are on tonight. And I’ve just been thinking, that considering those shows are just about the only thing I watch on TV (the only ones I watch regularly week-in-week-out at least), and that the majority of my websites are based around them, I don’t talk about ’em that much here. Apart from the sites, I spose. I don’t talk about the eps I’ve seen, or anything like that. Maybe it doesn’t seem strange to anyone who’s not me, but thing is, I probably wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Buffy. And I mean, here, writing this journal, living where I live, doing the job I do. No, scratch the probably – I definitely wouldn’t be. If I hadn’t got into Buffy, I don’t know that I’d have had the creative impetuous to do more than the basic simple website that Dark Angel’s Tower was, I don’t think I’d’ve started writing again, I never would have had the fun that is writing fanfic. I never would have moved up to Yorkshire, because I wouldn’t know my Barry, or Megs, or any of the fantastic people I’ve met through this whole Buffy / internet thing. In fact, if I think about it, I wouldn’t have known Char, and I never would have spoken more than two words to Russ at work…. in which case they most likely wouldn’t have both joined the mailing list where they met, and instead of being married and having a baby, they’d still be on opposite sides of the planet. And my god, that paragraph got long and involved. LOL.

I added a few more links today, to GB, and also to Sam, Lar, and Kassie, who I know of (though don’t know well (unfortunately, cos they’re cool people)) through the Buffy fandom. And I spose reading their blogs also partially sparked off the above train of thought. Though I think I’ve been way luckier than them. Probably it’s because my sites and fics are so-so, rather than remarkably good or bad, but I’ve never had any of the hassle that they seem to get. But it’s extremely shitty that the hassle happens. Live and let live, damnit!

Cool, it’s publishing again. So, new design, woohoo! Marc, who left a message in the guestbook, asked me if Yorkshire was all that bad….. am I giving the impression I don’t like it up here? Cos I do! (Well, apart from the extreme distance from all those lovely boots in Camden Market, but hey, I can’t afford ’em anyway. *g*) It’s way nicer than London.

I’ve added more blogs in the elsewhere bit on the right…. there are relatively newly discovered ones belonging to Tosca, Catt, Melly, and Kate Bolin, and I’ve also put in What’s New Pussycat, and Viscerate.com, cos I’ve been reading them for quite a while.

Feeling like shite again today, too. Half woke up this morning, convinced I’d slept in and was going to be late for work. When I prised my eyes open, the clock said 4:50. And my brain went ‘OMG, I’ve slept through the whole day!!’ Then I realised my alarm clock was still switched on. 4:50am. Arse. Then of course I couldn’t get back to sleep properly, and since I didn’t get to sleep til after 1am (I tried, I just didn’t sleep), I’m really not doing so well now. I can’t wait til Saturday…. I’m going to sleep the whole damn day if I can manage it.

Really don’t like this time of year. Can’t sleep, can’t eat…. OK the second one is probably a good thing, considering, but still, the combination isn’t fun.

But anyway, I got my new blog design done…. except, of course, I can’t get Blogger to publish (some problem with the ftp server – I can ftp in to the site from home, but it’s slooooooooow) so it’s only showing up in the link colours on the blog, and on the other non-blog pages. Ho hum. If this publishes, then it will be showing, of course, so that was a pointless ramble.

It’s Dad’s birthday today. I’m going to ring him a bit later, but I can’t sing cos I’m at work. *g* We’re going straight to see The Mummy Returns after work, so I can’t call this evening. And when I get home, I’m going straight to bed. Oh yes.

Got freaky.nu all sorted out last night, I think, so that’s good. And I’ve discovered a load more people who have blogs / journals, which is cool. Adding them to the elsewheres on the right, there, in a bit.

I spose it’s a bit silly me writing this, since the site is down along with some of my others, a victim of *something* dying between Docklands and my host. Pipe or server, I’m not sure, but the end result is a big 404-y blank. Seemed to come back briefly last night, but was so sluggish I couldn’t load the page on my crappy connection, and is gone again now. Nothing I can do about it *shrug*.

I think I’m going to redesign. What I have in mind shouldn’t take too long. Just thought of another design, too, but I might actually use that for the main part of Enchilada Sunrise. Mmmm….. yes, new design, I think. Yep.
