As per usual, I’ve done something that wasn’t on my list of stuff to do next. *g* So, Enchilada Sunrise (the ‘front end’ of this site) now has something actually there….. not a lot, but something. And Con Woman has moved over here and has a new design courtesy of Megs. Whoohoo! Now, to get on with something I’m actually *supposed* to be doing…….

Anji, good luck with the funeral. They’re horrible and upsetting, but kind of carthetic at the same time – they can be a good way to say goodbye. I guess that’s part of the point. And don’t worry about the song – it’s good that it’s one you like. I hope Mary Lauren liked it too. When my friend Shelley died when we were at school, one of the songs we sang at her funeral was “The Rhythm of Life”, which had been one of her faves. Even though the song might make you sad when you hear it in future, it’ll also be reminding you of your friend, and that can’t be a totally bad thing. :-) Ummm…. and on a less serious note, you think I had an interesting few days? Damn, must’ve missed them. *g* But what made you think I washed stuff by hand? Nooooo, I sent B to his parents’ place to use their washing machine, and saved this rest til ours arrived. Heheheh. There are no laundrettes because, I assume, the town we live in is ‘nice’, and has no student population that I know of, so I guess no-one has needed one. *shrugs*

I’m really not confident that this entry is going to publish, cos Blogger is having a bit of a spasm recently. But anyway, I can save it and publish later on. Of course, I’ve forgotton what I was going to say, now. Oh well.

Stuff is weird. I’ve come to that conclusion today. Specifically, on the bus on the way to work this morning (so I should probably bear in mind that I’m not really at my best at 7.30am on a Sunday). But anyway, weird stuff. On the way into town, there is a whole row of shops that seem to be in another country altogether. Somewhere in mainland Europe, I think. And then there’s this nice large-ish building which is apparantly the Welly Club (why is there a club for wellies? Or is it welly wearers?!?!). And the fact that the Hull Daily Mail building is next door to a Pawnbrokers and an ‘Adult’ shop. Oh yeah, and the bloke sunbathing in the bus station. On the pavement. All very strange. Or maybe that’s just me?

Did I mention that we got our washing machine? No more having to go to B’s parents’ house on the other side of town to wash stuff (cos no, there aren’t any laundrettes! Unbelievable), which is good. Ummm….. and I’ve found another domain name I want. I’m also considering buying my name domains. But of course, I won’t be able to do anything for the next few months, cos I need to save every penny if I’m going to be able to make it to Nocturnal. Eeep!!

Geuch. The 7.15 train was cancelled this morning….. I just wish there was some way of finding out if the train has been cancelled before leaving the fricking house. I could’ve done stuff at home instead of sitting around on the platform. We finally got a washing machine yesterday, and I did a whoooole load of washing last night that I could’ve hung out on the line…… and I’m turning into my mother. Damn. Oh yeah, and as a final blow this morning, Megs totally shunned me by choosing to wait on the other platform for the 8.00 train…. *dramatic sob* ;-)

It’s a gorgeous day today…. but there’s something I don’t understand. Or at least, I spose I do understand it, but it just seems so…. daft. It’s people who step outside on a day like this, in the beautiful fresh air, and promptly light up a fag. Yes, I *know* it’s an addiction, but it’s just so bizarre when you could be breathing lovely clean spring air, to choose to breathe smoke instead. Maybe I’m overly enthusiastic about the whole fresh air thing, cos I’m really appreciating it since I moved from London, now that I can breathe comfortably again. Ho hum.

I dyed my hair – I know have red roots, and black/brown/red rest-of-hair. Heh. And I fixed the problem with my form, all by myself (I’m so proud). And now, of course, I’ve hit the big solid wall that is Outlook-being-a-bastard. *sigh* It seems to have a word limit (165 characters to be precise) on the amount of body text it’ll display. Gah!! I need to get it working!

Didn’t write anything in the end, but I have finally added all the new members to the UKBAWC. Actually, to my surprise, by the time I’d weeded out the duplicates (from a little mail server glitch) and the duds (from people clearly not being able to read plain English), there were only 30 to add. Well, I say only – there were 76 members before, so relatively, that’s a lot. *g* I’ve decided to change [dot]Nu Too? to include sites on envy.nu and virtue.nu and see how it goes from there. Eternal… Literally is next on the list to be tarted up. Though I really do want to get Soulstar Design done, and get the fanfic and graphics sites revamped. Arrgghh….

I am soooo tempted to start a Tabitha fan site. Or maybe a Tab/Allen site….

Yahoogroups mail is still lagging. Gah. Bet I end up doing this at home tomorrow, now. But not til after I’ve dyed my hair. Must get my priorities straight. *g* I’m also going to try and finish at least one of the six-or-so fanfic pieces I have mostly written. I think I make too much work for myself. I have too many ideas, that’s the problem. Pah.

Oh, and d’you know what’s really annoying? I couldn’t find a .nu webring when I wanted it, hence opening [dot]Nu Too? to go with Megs’ banner exch. So what did I stumble across while randomly surfing yesterday? Yup, a well established, long running .nu webring. I liked my design, damnit, but there’s no point in running the ring if there’s already one out there. :-( Unless I change it to include free server sites as well. Dunno.

Added some more nominees to The SPIKED Awards and did some updates to A Tomb With a View yesterday. TWaV is doing well with getting into exclusive type rings / cliques. Heh. But now it’s time to concentrate on getting Eternal… Literally and S&S sorted out. And I’m also planning to use some of the old content from British Buffy for the UKBAWC – no sense in wasting it. ;-)

Well, the whole reformat / reinstall thing went without too many hitches. I’m still having sound card probs, and I have a load of things to reinstall, but otherwise it’s doing well. Computer seems a lot happier overall. Which is cool. :-)

And as another plus, Anji’s blog is now all in working order again – it turned out to be some kind of prob with Blogger itself which has been fixed now. Oh, and all my sites on soulstar.co.uk are back up. I looked into other “soulstar” domains today – the only free one was the .net which was actually on one of those ‘domain for sale’ things. For at least $650. I *don’t* think so! Did find a couple of tempting option though……. Must. Resist. Domain. Cravings. Gahhhh…………….

OK….. I’m about to reformat my hard drive, and I’m hoping I won’t kill it or lose anything vital. I’m pretty sure I’ve backed up everything I need / want. So here’s hoping.

And in other news, all my sites on soulstar.co.uk are down – there’s some kind of server problem that’s being worked on. Hope they haven’t lost them altogether! I think I have everything (backed-up, that is), but it’ll be a right pain if I have to re-upload. Gah. But anyway, that means Soulstar Fanfic and Graphics, Soulstar Design, Eternal… Literally, A Tomb With A View, and The Sunset Club ain’t working. Damnit. If it didn’t cost so much to transfer the domain out………

Hooookay. Trying out new site version. Marvel at the unrivalled crapness of it all. Webdesign has *never* been this bad…….

Dreamed last night that my Dad drove up to London and found Worf hanging around where I used to live. *g* Maybe I should follow that hunch up. Hmm. Taking Willow to the vets on Monday – her little eye is all squinty and sometimes it seems to get stuck shut, though we can’t see anything obviously wrong apart from that, and she perfectly happy. Bless. :-)

Census day tomorrow. Wonder if the whole Jedi thing will go through. Heh.

Just remembered another dream I had last night. Freaky and disturbing stuff – wonder where *that* came from! Might just have to turn it into a scary story. Hmmm. Might do.

Whoops, forgot to mention – my webring for .nu domains is now open. So if you’ve got a site with a .nu domain or subdomain (though not on free servers), do me a favour and check it out. Cos a ring of one is a bit pointless, isn’t it? *g* It lives right here. First site I’ve done using pop-ups, actually. I usually have too much content to sling in to squish it into a lil pop-up. Heheh.
