Um. *Tried* to install dotcomments. PHP doesn’t seem to be installed. Thought it was. Bizarre. Plan B, then…..

Some of my archives seem to be missing, and don’t want to republish. What’s up with that?

Eternal…. Literally is all shiny and new. I’m moving right away from black backgrounds now. Well, not totally, but for most things.

I put my other ‘official’ pics from the weekend up at Con Woman, too. Haven’t got my own pics developed yet, and I don’t know how well they’ll come out. Well, I’ll just have to wait and see.

I think I’m off to London tomorrow. I hope I am. But I need a lift – can’t afford another train fare. We got tickets for the Four Star Mary tomorrow night, and James Marsters is supposed to be appearing with them at some point. So it’s down a day early, and crashing on Luna and Noxy’s hotel room floor for the night. Though since I don’t know yet if I ever got a room sorted out for Nocturnal, it could be that I’ll be doing that all weekend. Which would save me a nice chunk of money.

Right then, gotta pack. Meep.

Haven’t finished EL yet, but I’m making progress. Which is good. May well get it all done and uploaded when I get home from work tonight. Here’s hoping.

Looks like I might end up with a project which is bigger than I originally expected. See, Barry wants to do a website for the character of Nina, played by Rachel Grant, who is the Sci Fright presenter on the Sci-fi channel. Not wanting to tread on anyone’s toes, he’s been trying to get in touch with various people, including the actress herself – who has been very helpful and friendly. Then yesterday, he got an email from the Sci-fi channel, who think it’s a good idea and want to talk to him further about it! Which is extremely cool, but causes me to feel slightly panicked – I’m the one who’ll be doing the design (from his basic plan), coding, graphics, etc since B hasn’t even attempted a website before. I need to get him to learn html so he can at least do the content and then update without me having to code it all up after he’s written it. Meep!

I’m off down to Hastings next week to visit family and friends…. I’ll have to make an effort to get something done with at least one of my sites before then, cos after that Nocturnal is looming. *g* And also, I’d like to get the new design on S&S before its second ‘birthday’, which is 11th June. I downloaded a ton of gorgeous filters and masks yesterday, so I’ll have a play with those and see what I can come up with.

Had a conversation with Lee this morning, about Buffy and Angel. He’s SkyOne-less, and planning on getting the new season tapes sent from the states. His missus is well into Angel, he says, honest. He’s also planning on buying all the box-sets. He reckons this makes him a right sad bastard. *g* So I asked what that made me. And interestingly, he reckons that he’s sad cos he just watches it and quite likes it, and wants to get the videos, but that’s it, but I’m *not* sad cos I watch it, then go away and make websites and write fic, and go to cons and all that, and actually do something with my interest. Hmm. Sounds good to me!

Martin is coming up this evening to stay for a few days. We’re going to be re-formatting my computer. Eeep. Cue backing-up frenzy. It really needs it though. Gotta remember to save all those things like my ICQ contact list, and my skins, and stuff like that. I wonder if I can save ICQ in general….. don’t really want the new version with those pesky banner ads everyone complains about.

Did I mention how much of an evil bastard my shower is? Why is it that when I’m not in a hurry, it works perfectly, but this morning, when I want to be quick and get ready for work, it does the Boiling, Freezing, Boiling, Freezing thing. Ow, Brrr, Ow, Brrr, OWW! And then I had a nose bleed. Damnit!

Yesterday was quite productive, in the end. I’m totally knackered now, and I seem to have pulled something in my back, but the house is *clean*! And as well as that, I’ve put new graphics up on the UKBAWC site. Design is basically the same, but I think it looks better overall. Yay!

Spoke to my friend Alison the other day (first time since I moved up here – oops!), and it turns out she’d just been to this site. So in case she comes back, HELLOOOOOO ALISON!! Baa-naby says “Baaaaa.”

Yet another possibly-Worf sighting. A large black fluffy cat is knocking on our catflap in the middle of the night, and then running away. Seriously. It’s happened three times now, at about 1am. There’ll be this tapping, but if I look into the kitchen, nothing there. I’ll then look out the back window, and see him retreating down the back path. Bizarre.

Anyway, I’ll be pretty much offline now til Saturday, cos Martin is going to be here in an hour. Lets see if I can last…… *g*

*sigh* Anji’s blog won’t publish to paranoid.freaky.nu and I can’t figure out why. Time to email my hosting co, I think. Have put a temp blog site up for her here, for now.

Presenting…… A Tomb With a View. I opened this site yesterday, after working on it for 3-and-a-bit weeks. It’s a dedication to Darla and Drusilla (from Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer). I’m pretty pleased with it. :-) So, the next thing for me to do is revamp Eternal…. Literally, I think. I can do most of the work on the UKBAWC in bits and pieces. And of course there is still the massive task of overhauling Spiked and Skewered. Maybe I should take some more time off work…… Heh.

*sniffle* No more comment count on Blogvoices. It’s speeded up performance no end, apparantly, so I can’t blame them for taking it out. But I liked it. I think there might be some way to install it locally – I’ll have to check it out. Or maybe I should be thinking about shifting to Greymatter. Megs, what d’you think? Is it easy to set up and use?

John of Site for Sore Eyes has been nice enough to link me from his blog. And his blog is a real, proper blog – unlike this one, which is much more of a journal, or perhaps a burblelog *g*. Also, he likes Buffy. :-) So anyway, if you want to see what a blog should really be like, go see John. I’ve actually been thinking about the distinct non-blog-ness of this …. er….. blog over the last few days. And I’ve come to the conclusion that I’d never be able to produce a site like John’s, because the vast majority of my time on the internet is invested (and it is an investment, honest! *g*) in working on my own sites, reading my vast amount of email, and chatting to my friends on ICQ or AIM. When I’m not doing that, I’ll really only be surfing Buffy-related sites, and other blogs. And since the other blogs are the only places I’ll come across current affairs type articles, there would be no point in then inserting that into *my* blog unless I have a comment to make about it. Still with me? (No? Oh well. *g*) Soooooo….. what I’m going to do, then, is blog about the sites I do visit – Buffy / Angel sites. Perhaps not everyday, I don’t know yet. I’ll still continue with the general rambling too. And that’s it, really. Bet you’re glad you read that lot, huh? *g*

My Dad told me that my aunt Mary went for a job interview the other day, and they didn’t believe her about her age, or something. Apparantly they were really rude, and she’s talking of sending my cousin Raymond round to sort ’em out. LOLOL. Thing is, she was applying for a job in an old people’s home. Mary is 77 years old. Raymond thinks she’s about 69. OK, so she doesn’t look her age, but I don’t think she’s going to be able to get away with pretending to be in her fifties any more. My Dad’s whole family is utterly barking, you know, and they’re not getting any better with age….. but at least they go on forever!

I have my first ‘interesting’ search result – “sluts are so good”. LOLOL. And *then* I found this in my guestbook at Spiked and Skewered:

Well, thanks…… but I’m actually not James Marsters. Guess I could pass it on to him when I see him at the con in June, though. Teehee! (2½ months to go!)

Oh yeah, and I thought of the other thing I need to do – I have to get my new project rolling. I’ve bought a new domain, and some space, and I’m going to be using it to host people. So, I need to get a front page up, and then find some way of getting good hostees. I was planning it to be a totally non-Buffy site, and only host people I didn’t already know, but I already offered to host Anji’s blog. I’m not going to host anyone else I know, though. But I may take a Buffy or Angel site. Preferably just the one, cos I want to have a good variety…… I want it to depend more on the webmaster than exactly what’s on their site. Does that make any sense? Probably not, but at least I know what I mean.

Trying a little layout tweaking at the moment. Reduced the font size, and got rid of the indentation for the posts. Not sure how well that’s going to work, but I know I’m not totally happy with how it was. Maybe the general yellow-ness is starting to wear me down. *g* Who can tell. Let me know if this looks better or worse……
