August IComLeavWe

IComLeavWe has rolled around again, so hi to anyone who drops by from that :-)  I’m going to be a little late in starting this month, because I’m going to be out for most of tomorrow (technically today already, eek), and I might be sleeeeeepy when I get home.  In fact, I should be in bed and sleeping now, so I’d better get going.  I may get a chance to jump online when I get in tomorrow, but if not, it’ll have to wait until Sunday.  I can do double then.

  1. Hi from ICLW! I was drawn over to your blog because I am a new knitter. :) I taught myself last summer, and have been trying to do lots of new things this summer. My worst knitting habit is that I start something… and it doesn’t get done. So I’ve been knitting baby stuff the last month or so… maybe it’s unnecessary punishment to an infertile… but it’s so easy to finish and they end up so cute!

    1. Hi, thanks for dropping by. :-) Sounds like you have a bad case of “startitis” – it’s something I suffer from too! *g* I’ve had to make a rule for myself that I’m not allowed to have more than eight projects on the go at once, or I completely lose track. Baby things are cute and fairly easy to actually finish, aren’t they? I’ve made a few things for friends with little ones. I hope you get to knit for your own baby in the near future.

    1. Glad to know I’m not the only one! ;-) And hooray, I’m always happy to meet another knitter.

I haven’t read that series, no – I missed out on a whole load of YA fiction because I was into spy stories and such from the age of 10, and skipped straight to raiding my parents’ bookshelves! (And it’s probably a good thing that I read those books at that age, since I’m pretty sure I’d throw them across the room in frustration with all the 1950’s sexism now ;-) ) Would you recommend the Redwall series?

  2. Hey, don’t feel bad about being late. I signed up late; actually did it before the “closed” statement went up but still didn’t make it on. I’m just so used to it every month now that I figured, “Hey, why not drop by and see them anyway!” So no worries. Sometimes it happens. This blogging thing – this is serious stuff! We get tired!

    1. You’re quite right, blogging is Seriously Business! *g* What I actually really like about IComLeavWe is that it’s less strict than NaBloWriMo, for example. I like that too, but I can’t always commit to it, and ICLW leaves you space to catch up the next day if you can’t get all the commenting done. It’s really cool that you’re doing it anyway, despite missing the list this month – that’s proper commitment!
