Cliqueiness

Hmm. Joined Messina’s new Over the Rainbow clique, and also the GBlogs groupy thing. I wasn’t going to join cliques and stuff through this site, but hey, I wanted to, so why not. *g* Note the new ‘belongings’ (pop-up) link on the right. I was going to have an early night tonight. Uhh… oops.

Interesting.

I’m finding this really interesting. Haven’t read it all yet, but I’m getting there. Did a course on Technology and Society on the OU, but in the end I was only really interested in the internet side. I think if I ever do another course anywhere, I’d rather go for something more on the practical design / coding / programming side now. But I still enjoy reading this kind of stuff. The site in general is also well worth checking out. Geek definition fits me to a T….

{“fits to a T” – where does that phrase come from? Hmmm.}

Oh, and the Referral Madness section over on NotSoSoft inspired me to take a peek at my own (embarassingly modest) stats. Most of the hits I’ve had have been from links, but I’ve had 3 search engine referrals (not too bad, I guess, since I haven’t bunged any keywords up or registered with any engines yet). Nothing strange and bizarre, but nothing really relevant either. One was for ‘alien pictures’ (that’d be the background, then *g*), and two for ‘Emily Bouffant’ (the girl I went to school with who’s now on telly).

Watched Shanghai Noon last night. Nicely entertaining – the funniest thing, though, has to be the subtitles for the American Indians. Tis impressive though, considering that Jackie Chan must be getting on a bit now – some of the fight scenes were pretty damn cool. And the subtitles were better than having it dubbed, too – some of his earlier stuff is kinda spoiled by the comedy dubbing IMO…. but on the other hand that’s kinda sposed to be like that, and you do get used to it. Heh. B has corrupted me. And talking of which, we’re sposed to be going to the pub quiz tonight…. I want to, but I’m sooooo tired. And also, these headaches aren’t of the good. I ought to go to the optician, I reckon. Maybe I’ll have a night of a bit of telly then bed, and no computer (yeah, right). Last couple of days I’ve also been playing with graphics for B’s new site, and updating the HRFHS site for Mum. I need fewer websites. Damn.

Odd Stuff

Saw Megs this morning on the train. I was running late, and she was running a bit early. Urgh, just think of that – going to college at 7.45am. When I was in the 6th form, I’m sure I never even got up before 8am. At least I get paid for the early thing now! … Continue reading “Odd Stuff”

Noticed odd stuff this morning. Mainly cos once Megs got off the station before me, I moved over to sit on the other side of the train. I hadn’t realised it before, but I always sit on the same side, so today I had a whole new view. And there was this little warp in the glass of the window, which was just at about head-height for the passengers standing on the station, and did strange and comical things to their faces. Heh. Then I saw a giant metal spider in a field – it was a climbing frame. Very scary. And on the kind of patch of wasteland that I guess the travellers must use, there were a couple of ponies, and some goats. A couple of the goats were those really long haired ones. Maaaaah. I knew a goat called Louise when I was little. There’s a pic somewhere. I’ll stick it up when the rest of this site happens.

Train pulled into a different platform to normal, too. Honestly, the trains up here really have no rhyme or reason to them. They actually apologised for the delay today, though, which makes a change. All the stations are those big long shed things like you get on Thomas the Tank Engine (or you used to….. don’t know if that still does) too. They were filming something in the station here the other week – I was told it was a remake of Murder on the Orient Express, but I haven’t been able to find anything on the net about it. Could be a BBC drama thing, of course. Didn’t see any of the actors except from the distance, at an angle (in a wood, with an owl….) so dunno if David Suchet was Poirot-ing it up again…….

Ahhhh, retail therapy…..

Ahhhh, retail therapy….. :-) I feel better. Not that I was so very terrible to begin with….. I just had a marginally crappy weekend, especially compared to poor Megs–> {{{{{*hugs*}}}}}. Ahhhh, retail therapy….. :-) I feel better. Not that I was so very terrible to begin with….. I just had a marginally crappy weekend, especially compared to poor Megs–> {{{{{*hugs*}}}}}. But I still have no Worf (a big black cat tried to come in the catflap last night, and it might have been him, but Willow was on her guard-cat roll, and went haring off and chased him away…. it was too dark to see clearly if it actually was him or not), and Saturday night wasn’t fun – went over to B’s friends’ place, but I had a pounding headache and was really out of it, so now they’re going to think I’m even more of a boring old party pooper than they did before cos of my work hours. :-( And today I have the thing which we don’t mention to the blokes at work cos it totally freaks them all (ROTFL!). So, retail therapy….. lots of new tops. Wanted trousers, and maybe a skirt too, but I didn’t have time to try them on. Maybe tomorrow. This shop rocks, though. It’s not as big as Black Rose of course, but it has lots of Omen stuff. *drools* I’m going to end up spending sooooooo much money there…..

Heheheheh.

Heheheheh. This is a good one. I’m 58% gay, apparantly – “A happy and well adjusted hetero”. Sounds ’bout right, I guess. Oh, and that thing that made Megs 27, reckoned I was 30. Should I be insulted? *g* The breakdown, though, had me at 25 a lot of the time. Bugger, I’m stereotypical for … Continue reading “Heheheheh.”
